Job Overview/Summary:
As the civilian deputy director of the directorate and an expert of secure voice, video, and data systems (including all ancillary equipment), this role supports the President of the United States and his staff. The position involves planning, coordinating, and leading the installation, operation, and maintenance of head of state (HOS) secure voice communications links between the United States and other nations. You will supervise approximately 45 military employees, 4 civilians, and 6-10 contractors working in special missions, translation, secure voice maintenance, and technical control.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all current and emerging programs/systems have sufficient redundancy, feasible maintenance support, and life-cycle replacement plans.
- Develop, implement, and integrate acquisition and transition initiatives for secure voice, switching, transmission, timing, synchronization, and network monitoring management subsystems.
- Plan and implement Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) logistics support, software controls, and life-cycle management.
- Coordinate with embassy information management offices and foreign telecommunications engineers to plan and conduct annual technical meetings with various nations.
Primary Skills:
- Strong proficiency in managing secure voice, video, and data systems in support of executive leadership.
- Technical expertise in logistics support, switching systems, and network monitoring subsystems.
- Experience with Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) operations and lifecycle management.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience managing military and civilian teams in high-stakes environments.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with foreign telecommunications engineers.
Qualifications:
- IT-related experience demonstrating competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
- One year of experience exercising technical and administrative functions for a team of telecommunications, IT, and maintenance specialists, as well as managing contractor work.
- Must hold or be able to maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance and pass pre-employment/random drug testing.
