Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sr Java Backend Developer for a 12+ month extendable contract position located in Santa Clara, CA (onsite). The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in Java backend development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture, databases, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services and microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Implement and manage RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Work with relational databases like Oracle and Postgres
- Utilize Kafka for messaging and ES for indexing
- Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality and reliability
- Implement caching mechanisms for improved performance
- Analyze logs and troubleshoot issues using Splunk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
Primary Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in backend development with Java
- Expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, and REST Microservices
- Strong experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch (ES)
- Proficiency in relational databases like Oracle or Postgres
- Experience with Splunk, unit testing, and caching strategies
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Knowledge of cloud environments and DevOps tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of backend development experience with Java
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and relational databases
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
