Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Squadron Manager to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in customer engagement, contract management, and technical control within the Satellite Control Network (SCN). This role involves managing contract personnel, supporting various SCN systems, and providing detailed designs and plans for network architecture. The Squadron Manager will also act as a liaison to government customers for all contract-related matters and ensure all operations tasks are conducted in accordance with approved directives.
 
Responsibilities:
Focus on customer engagement, addressing or presenting all contractual matters at 22 SOPS location to leadership.
Provide management oversight for STORMS contract personnel supporting the Technical Control Center, MDT, FAS, and HBSS system software team for the SCN Network.
Work independently and with a team of high-quality engineers on efforts to install, integrate, test, and verify fixes and improvements to SCN systems.
Provide detailed designs, plans, specifications, and schematics for network architecture.
Indirectly support the continued delivery of telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) capabilities to various SCN users.
Conduct functional and empirical analysis related to the planning, design, installation, and implementation of the network infrastructure.
Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Support SCN troubleshooting across the network telecommunications, computer hardware and software, electrical and mechanical equipment requiring on-site end-user support, installation, maintenance, and repairs.
Assist with installation, checkout, and de-install of changes/updates to supported mission systems, understanding previous operational failures and modifications.
Ensure all operations tasks are conducted in accordance with approved directives.
Write and review site operational instructions, ensuring compliance by employees.
Interface with Akima Shared Services on employee issues, including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, etc.
Collect and analyze operational performance data, recommending process improvements.
Enforce standards and deploy company-directed discipline practices when needed.
Conduct and supervise employee technical training programs in an on-the-job environment.
Act as liaison to the government customer for all contract-related matters.
Perform other collateral duties as assigned or directed.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least ten (10) years of Satellite Control Network (SCN) experience. In lieu of a degree, four (4) years of additional related work experience will be considered.
Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Experience managing in a CBA environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead employees in a team environment.
Experience interfacing with military personnel and government customers.
Proficient in reading, writing, and clearly speaking English.
Position may require additional government certifications as necessary.
Full-time position, day shift, and as determined by the Deputy Program Manager.
