Job Overview/Summary:
The Software Developer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software solutions based on high-level government requirements. This includes building software tools that incorporate third-party utilities, developing large-scale applications, and managing complex systems and web-based query/reporting systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement custom software tools, integrating third-party utilities as needed.
  • Develop and maintain original software applications, including web-based query and reporting systems.
  • Design software based on high-level concepts provided by the government and create detailed specifications.
  • Author programs to achieve specified outcomes from vague or high-level concepts.
  • Produce design documentation, including process flow, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, physical architecture, system interfaces, data dictionary, and data model.
  • Estimate project work and provide detailed specifications.
  • Address operational and management issues through effective systems design and implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to security standards for Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) and classified data, in compliance with FISMA.

Primary Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C#, Python, PowerShell, ASP.NET, SQL, XML, WSDL, Angular, and Microservices Architecture.
  • Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret, TS/SCI w CI Poly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in software development, computer science, or related field with 2+ years of software development experience, or 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Knowledge of Information Security Systems (ISS) and Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA).
  • Ability to utilize Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software in application design to minimize proprietary system development.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in database management and interface development for complex systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
