Job Overview/Summary:
Pulivarthi Group is seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer II to oversee and implement safety programs at worksites. This role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure safety compliance, conducting safety audits and training, and promoting a culture of safety excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to analyze and address safety concerns proactively.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage safety programs for team members at each worksite.
- Assist project management teams in developing and executing site-specific safety programs and activities.
- Conduct safety orientations, training programs, and work area safety audits.
- Document and track safety violations, unsafe conditions, and other safety-related issues.
- Analyze project safety indicators and trends through data collection and analysis.
- Coordinate OSHA reporting and compliance requirements.
- Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor work plans for safety concerns.
- Assist with major incident analysis, injury management, and case management.
- Coordinate return-to-work and modified duty assignments.
- Organize and implement project safety celebrations and recognition programs.
- Provide safety resources and information to project team members.
- Evaluate industrial hygiene concerns and offer solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and other relevant standards and regulations.
- Attend and chair safety meetings, contributing to project planning and hazard analysis.
Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field preferred.
- High school diploma with STS/CHST Certification, OSHA 30-Hour Training, and extensive experience may be considered.
- Minimum of one year of related experience.
- Internship or related construction safety experience preferred.
- At least seven years of continuous construction experience with five years managing safety programs is required for candidates without a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety-related software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent customer service skills.
- Effective communication, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
- Proven leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Current driver’s license.
