Job Overview/Summary:
The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for evaluating products to ensure they meet applicable regulations and standards. This role will be a key contributor to Research and Development (R&D) during the product development process, securing compliance and regulatory approvals for market access. The position is part of Cytiva’s Global Regulatory Compliance team and supports efforts to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core team member for New Product Development (NPD) projects to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and market access requirements
- Apply for and maintain import/export permits, licenses, and certifications (e.g., USDA, EPA)
- Manage reporting to US regulatory authorities, including EPA and USDA
- Collaborate with Customs and Trade teams to resolve trade compliance matters in the supply chain
- Monitor changes in relevant regulations and ensure organizational awareness and compliance
- Participate in and support Project Management Office (PMO) projects as required
Primary Skills:
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, especially in the biotechnology and life sciences industries
- Expertise in navigating US regulatory authorities such as USDA and EPA
- Experience managing trade compliance and working with Customs teams
- Ability to secure necessary licenses and permits for product development and market access
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Familiarity with international trade regulations and global compliance practices
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment with a focus on life sciences or biotechnology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in product regulations and working with US authorities
- Knowledge of world trade and Customs compliance topics
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
