Job Title: Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scan Technician

Job Overview/Summary:
The PET Scan Technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established professional and departmental standards. This role ensures high-quality patient care, safety, and accurate imaging results to support effective diagnosis and treatment planning.

Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals per departmental and professional standards

Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately

Operate PET and CT imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images

Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality at all times

Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR)

Respond effectively during crisis or emergency situations

Complete Point of Care Testing training as part of department orientation

Primary Skills:
PET and CT imaging procedures

Radiopharmaceutical handling and administration

Patient positioning and safety protocols

Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation

Crisis management and problem-solving

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Customer service orientation toward patients, team members, and visitors

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to lift patients up to 50 lbs

Qualifications:
One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred

Completion of Point of Care Testing training (during orientation)

ARRT-N or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology

BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)

Competency in CT and PET imaging
