Job Overview/Summary:
The Polygraph Specialist will mentor and guide credibility assessment (CA) students across federal law enforcement, intelligence, and security agencies. This role involves the development, implementation, and instruction of cutting-edge polygraph examination techniques that align with federal policies and regulations. The specialist will support the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) by providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to the highest standards in polygraph examinations and PDD procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor CA students within the federal community, providing expert guidance and supervision in polygraph procedures.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of new and innovative polygraph courses and education programs for federal agencies.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations for PDD/CA courses to ensure compliance with federal laws and mandates.
- Participate in psychophysiological research and investigative studies to advance CA techniques and practices.
- Liaise with leadership to identify and recommend solutions for challenges within the NCCA and CA community.
Primary Skills:
- Expertise in administering polygraph security screening examinations.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in training and mentoring federal employees.
- Experience developing partnerships and maintaining relationships with leadership.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions for polygraph-related issues.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Familiarity with research in psychophysiology and credibility assessment.
- Knowledge of compliance inspection and regulatory practices related to polygraph examinations.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (PDD) training program.
- Certified federal polygraph examiner with experience providing polygraph exams worldwide.
- One year of specialized experience at a GS/GG-12 level or equivalent, including instruction and technical advisory roles.
- Demonstrated skills in communication, team building, and compliance inspection.
