Job Title: Plastics Engineer

Job Overview/Summary:
The Plastics Engineer will support medium to large design and testing efforts focused on developing new, innovative plastic sterile disposable products for radiology and cardiovascular devices. This role participates in product design and development, supporting life cycle engineering of existing products, and works closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and program management, in an FDA-regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead/support detailed engineering design, development, and implementation of new sterile disposable product designs for medical procedures.
  • Conduct testing in an R&D lab to verify concept product designs, including sample preparation for risk reduction testing and functional testing.
  • Support verification/validation testing of production-ready products.
  • Develop design history file documentation, including technical assessments, test protocols/reports, and other engineering documentation.
  • Write scientific protocols, manage or execute protocol activities, analyze results, and write reports.
  • Create/modify SD designs using CAD software such as Pro Engineer and CREO, with potential 3D printing as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, procurement, and product supply functions to ensure project deliverables align with organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Skills:

  • Experience with Pro Engineer and CREO for CAD modeling
  • Data analysis using Minitab
  • Knowledge of FDA-regulated medical device design control processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Plastics Engineering or related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in mechanical/plastic engineering roles
  • Strong problem-solving, creativity, and interpersonal communication skills
