Job Overview/Summary:

The Physician/Medical Director provides primary care services and medical oversight in long-term care facilities. This role ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, manages clinical operations, supports facility systems, and maintains compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary care services in accordance with Eventus WholeHealth site-specific protocols and standards for family medicine, geriatric medicine, and/or internal medicine in long-term care settings

  • Review and sign Medication Administration Records (MARs), orders, and phone orders within 24 hours when required

  • Review and address laboratory results within 24 hours of receipt

  • Manage all scheduled medication prescriptions according to facility policies and Eventus WholeHealth guidelines

  • Allow adequate time for paperwork and administrative duties during facility visits

  • Collaborate with facility staff to manage systems and attend care plan meetings and QA/PI (Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement) meetings as requested

  • Be available on call between 8AM and 5PM by text or phone on scheduled workdays, in coordination with the ECare team and according to triage policies

  • Submit documentation and billing records according to billing schedules

  • Establish and maintain open, positive communication with facility staff and administration

  • Provide verbal and written instructions regarding medications and other relevant caregiver information

  • Meet with the facility Administrator or designated care coordinator at the start and end of patient care visits each day

  • Adhere to Eventus WholeHealth standards, policies, procedures, and all relevant legal and regulatory guidelines

  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, including appropriate use of cell phones, email, text messaging, patient charts, and EMR

  • Follow HIPAA rules and regulations and CPT coding guidelines

Primary Skills:

  • Primary care delivery in long-term care settings

  • Clinical documentation and prescription management

  • Communication and collaboration with facility staff

  • On-call responsiveness and coordination

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Participation in quality assurance and improvement activities

  • Familiarity with triage policies and ECare team coordination

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in long-term care environments

Qualifications:

  • Licensed MD or DO

  • 3 years of experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred

  • AMDA certification is a plus but not mandatory

  • Strong leadership qualities

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
