Job Overview/Summary:
The Oncology Health IT Specialist acts as a subject matter expert in Health Information Technology (HIT) with a focus on Oncology. This role involves assessing customer needs, developing tailored plans, optimizing EHR systems for patient safety, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to share Health IT insights.
Responsibilities:
Align resources to develop comprehensive plans for priority accounts
Complete needs assessments with identified customers to address Health IT gaps
Develop and implement comprehensive, customer-specific plans
Serve as matrix team HIT subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders
Identify and share Health IT insights with Marketing, Access, and Sales teams
Assist customers in optimizing EHR systems to address patient safety gaps in Oncology
Primary Skills:
Health Information Technology subject matter expertise
EHR optimization and implementation experience
Needs assessment and plan development for healthcare customers
Stakeholder engagement and communication
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Knowledge of oncology clinical workflows
Matrix team collaboration
Insight generation and sharing across departments
Qualifications:
4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 4 years working for a healthcare technology company (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, McKesson, iKnowMed, or OncoEMR preferred), or within a Health System informatics group/team at leadership level, or similar role within a pharmaceutical company required
Minimum 3 years clinical Hematology and/or Oncology experience preferred
In-depth knowledge of healthcare and health information technology, and EHR building experience
Excellent presentation skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Enthusiastic, positive attitude, flexibility
Ability to consistently travel overnight
