Job Overview/Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist plays a vital role in providing high-quality clinical counseling and case management services to patients within a compassionate and person-centered care framework. This position offers dynamic engagement in therapeutic interventions, patient advocacy, and the development of individualized treatment plans, contributing directly to the overall well-being of clients in the MultiCare system.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered counseling, advocacy, and case management for patients.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect the patient’s voice, therapeutic goals, and measurable outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with agency documentation standards and contract authorization requirements.

  • Deliver clinical and case management services that are responsive to the diverse needs of patients.

  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and continuity of care.

  • Maintain ethical and professional standards in all aspects of clinical practice.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong clinical counseling and case management capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop and implement effective treatment strategies.

  • Familiarity with behavioral health documentation and compliance standards.

  • Competence in patient advocacy and crisis intervention.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience working in a community mental health or healthcare setting.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

  • Familiarity with state and federal behavioral health regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Eligibility to apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within 30 days, and obtain within 90 days of hire (unless holding a higher credential).

  • Current Washington State driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of relocation).

  • Previous experience in providing mental health counseling services preferred.

  • Depending on assignment, a safe driving record meeting MultiCare standards may be required.
