Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a highly accomplished Medical Director – Respiratory to provide scientific leadership and medical expertise in support of brand strategy, clinical research, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires close collaboration with commercial, clinical, and payer teams to drive medical strategy, ensure compliance, and advance the scientific and clinical profile of respiratory products.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical input into brand strategy as a core member of the Core Medical Team (CMT).

  • Partner with commercial teams and alliance partners to execute brand strategy.

  • Develop and implement external engagement plans with KOLs, professional societies, institutions, and payer organizations.

  • Plan and participate in national and regional medical advisory boards.

  • Lead the planning and delivery of training for scientific/medical speakers and internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with evidence directors to define research strategy, including Phase 4 and lifecycle management studies.

  • Provide strategic input into the design and execution of clinical studies to support promotional claims and advance product knowledge.

  • Review and contribute to publication strategies, ensuring scientific and medical accuracy.

  • Provide medical review of externally sponsored research proposals and promotional/medical materials.

  • Serve as a US medical spokesperson for brand-related media inquiries and external groups.

  • Collaborate with Patient Safety teams to monitor and provide input on product safety.

  • Ensure all activities comply with corporate policies, OPDP, PhRMA Code, and FDA regulations.

Primary Skills & Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, PharmD).

  • Expertise or proficiency in Pulmonary Medicine and/or Pharmacology.

  • Background in academic medicine, clinical research, biostatistics, and epidemiology.

  • Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven collaboration and cross-functional teamwork skills.

  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

  • High ethical standards with demonstrated integrity.

Preferred Qualifications (Desirable):

  • MD with Board Certification/eligibility in Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, or related specialty.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience (especially product development or launch).

  • Strong understanding of U.S. payer and provider landscape.

  • Business acumen with ability to integrate clinical/scientific insights into commercial strategy.

  • Familiarity with OPDP, PhRMA Code, FDA requirements, and regulatory standards.
