Job Overview/Summary:
As a Machinist II, you will be responsible for operating a variety of machine tools and fabricating machined components. This journeyman-level position requires a high degree of independence and precision in working from blueprints and engineering drawings, while ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, milling machines, CNC machines, and other power equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, production diagrams, and verbal instructions to fabricate various machined components.
  • Perform shop calculations to determine patterns, tooling feeds, and speeds using handbook formulas.
  • Conduct part inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers.
  • Program CNC machines as needed.
  • Work independently or in collaboration with the Lead to ensure job completion within schedule and accuracy standards.
  • Perform other job functions as assigned.

Primary Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating a variety of machine tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in performing shop calculations and inspections.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience working with a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of advanced machining techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman-level experience as a machinist.
  • Strong understanding of machine tool operation and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools for part inspections.
