Job Overview/Summary:
As a Healthcare User Acceptance Tester (Functional), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of IT systems within the healthcare sector, focusing on Medicaid, Health and Human Services (HHS), and Eligibility projects. The role requires an expert in system development projects who can develop, execute, and manage test plans, scripts, and strategies to ensure the software meets the required standards and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing and evaluation of project initiatives, identifying software and service issues.
  • Analyze discrepancies in performance and provide recommendations for updates.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) while monitoring defects, creating defect reports, and working with vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Ensure software testing is completed on time and notify management of potential bottlenecks, issues, or risks.
  • Develop and execute detailed test scripts for UAT and Systems Integration Testing (SIT), ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and defect resolution.

Primary Skills:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Eligibility, Medicaid, or Health and Human Services (HHS) IT projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in mid- or large-scale system development projects, including test automation, strategy development, and test script execution.
  • 5+ years of experience creating and executing detailed test scripts for UAT and/or SIT.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and online applications.
  • Experience with defect/bug management tools like HP ALM, Bugzilla, JIRA, and JAMA.
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability matrix, testing phases, entrance and exit criteria, and data creation/maintenance.
  • Knowledge of MMIS Member Enrollment/Provider Services Modules.
  • Familiarity with development tools and languages.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale testing efforts and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and resolving discrepancies in performance or service.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
