Job Title: Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care and support for individuals with end-stage renal disease receiving dialysis treatment. This position requires a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with the ability to work flexible schedules, adapt to different facilities, and provide safe and effective care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care, ensuring safe, hygienic, and comfortable dialysis treatment.

  • Monitor and record patient stats, observations, and treatment details before, during, and after dialysis.

  • Set up and maintain hemodialysis machines, with awareness of exposure to blood and needles.

  • Build long-term relationships with patients, providing education on kidney dialysis and treatment.

  • Work closely with a cross-functional clinical team including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership.

  • Support patient safety and treatment effectiveness by following established protocols.

  • Train and float across multiple facilities as needed to support patient care.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong desire to care for individuals in need.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under RN supervision.

  • Comfortable working with blood, needles, and dialysis-related solutions (acid/bicarb).

  • Excellent communication and patient relationship-building skills.

  • Physical and mental stamina to work long shifts (including 12+ hours on your feet).

Experience & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Certification: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT).

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment color-blindness test (reasonable accommodations may be provided).

  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Willingness to float across multiple facilities during and after training.

Training Details:

  • Initial training may occur at a facility other than your assigned home location.

  • Hands-on and classroom training designed to prepare you for dialysis patient care.
