Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Trials Support Assistant to contribute to the successful delivery of clinical trials. The role includes supporting the processing of clinical samples, ECG tracings, administrative functions, and ensuring high-quality patient and research participant engagement. The ideal candidate will have prior clinical or research exposure and strong interpersonal and IT skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform electrocardiography (ECG) tracings and process clinical samples as agreed with the manager
Support administrative tasks related to clinical research
Work with patients directly or indirectly in clinical or research settings
Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary research team
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with regulatory standards
Participate in informed consent procedures if trained and delegated
Primary Skills:
Knowledge of research methodologies
Understanding of the NHS and healthcare organizational structures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail
Excellent IT proficiency (MS Office, databases)
Good time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated initiative and proactive attitude
Professionalism in dealing with staff and the public
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Previous experience working within Clinical Trials Management in the NHS
Experience with informed consent procedures
Previous training in clinical skills such as:
Clinical observations
Venepuncture
Cannulation
ECG
Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
Good general standard of education
Desirable:
AHCS registration
NHS Care Certificate
