Job Overview/Summary:

Seeking an experienced Clinical Lead Therapist specializing in hand and wrist conditions to manage complex trauma and elective cases while leading and developing staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patients with hand and wrist trauma and elective surgeries.

  • Provide advanced treatment for complex conditions.

  • Supervise and develop staff (e.g., supervision, PDRs).

  • Communicate effectively using verbal and non-verbal techniques (e.g., motivational interviewing).

  • Plan, allocate, and delegate tasks across the team.

  • Handle patient/customer expectations and complaints professionally.

  • Apply evidence-based practices and NHS guidelines.

  • Demonstrate reflective practice and continuous professional development.

  • Fabricate and fit splints as required.

Primary Skills:

  • Excellent clinical expertise in hand and wrist therapy.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of NHS policies and national guidelines.

  • Ability to manage complex patient needs and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Teaching/presentation abilities.

  • Familiarity with the bio-psychosocial approach.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma.

  • HCPC registration.

  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate training.

  • Previous NHS physiotherapy experience (undergraduate or postgraduate).

Desirable:

  • Clinical Educator Training.

  • Membership of Professional Body.

  • Master’s level study or equivalent.

  • Leadership training.
