Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Specialist

Job Overview/Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Specialist assists physicians with invasive cardiology procedures and performs various clerical duties. This position grants full access to patient health information and limited access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances), as necessary for job responsibilities. The specialist must be qualified through education and training to carry out assigned clinical duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during invasive cardiology procedures

  • Perform duties aligned with scope of training in cardiovascular or radiologic technology

  • Handle clerical responsibilities within the department

  • Access and manage patient health information in compliance with regulations

  • Maintain safety and respond appropriately during emergency situations

  • Wear protective equipment, including lead aprons, as required

  • Participate in patient lifting with appropriate assistance and devices

Primary Skills:

  • Experience in cardiovascular or radiologic technology (special procedures)

  • Knowledge of invasive cardiology procedures

  • CPR (BCLS) certification

  • Emergency response competence

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or willingness to obtain

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or willingness to obtain within a year

  • One year of experience working in a cardiovascular lab

  • Registry eligible or certified in Cardiovascular Interventional Technology (CIT)

Qualifications:

  • Certification, registration, or registry eligibility in a relevant allied health field

  • If registry eligible, must obtain certification within one year of hire

  • Must pass a basic FIT test demonstrating full range of motion

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and wear lead protection during procedures

  • BCLS required; ACLS preferred
