Job Overview/Summary:

The Bone Density Technologist is responsible for obtaining diagnostic-quality X-rays of the human body to support accurate bone density assessment and clinical decision-making. This role ensures patient safety, high imaging standards, and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and position patients for bone density procedures to achieve optimal imaging results.

Properly screen patients for contraindications to radiographic procedures.

Clearly explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns.

Apply radiation safety principles and maintain compliance with safety protocols.

Capture, document, and maintain accurate records of bone density images.

Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on bone density equipment.

Comply with clinical accreditation requirements and submission deadlines.

Assist with clinical accreditation applications and inspections.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be ARRT (R) certified with valid state licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.

CPR certification required.

Completion of an accredited ARRT program.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
