Job Title: Behavioral Health Therapist II

Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Therapist to join our growing team. This role provides individual and group therapy, creates treatment plans, and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving mental wellness. Candidates must possess appropriate licensure in the state of Maryland.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of new patients using the identified format and make clinical decisions regarding treatment, interventions, and referrals.

  • Implement and adapt models and treatment concepts in delivering services to patients.

  • Document all clinical interactions and services rendered according to guidelines.

  • Create and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.

  • Monitor patient progress and revise treatment strategies as needed.

  • Complete same-day clinical documentation and collaborate with insurance providers.

  • Participate in regular treatment team meetings to review cases and update care plans.

  • Provide individual and group therapy, and engage families in the care process when appropriate.

  • Educate patients about recovery processes.

  • Consult with supervisors and team members regarding challenging cases or significant patient status changes.

  • Coordinate referrals to community services and additional care as necessary.

  • Maintain daily productivity records and participate in quality assurance activities.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

  • Proficient in individual and group therapy modalities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Understanding of behavioral health documentation practices.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Knowledge of DSM (latest version).

  • Experience with outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs).

  • Spanish or other second language fluency.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or a related field (must meet state educational requirements).

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • If Master’s in Psychology: Must hold LCPC or LGPC.

  • If Master’s in Social Work: Must hold LCSW or LMSW.

  • Active and valid license required in the state of Maryland.
