Job Overview/Summary:

The Therapist III is responsible for delivering high-quality behavioral health services to diverse patient populations. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, independent judgment, and adherence to state and professional licensing standards to support patient well-being and treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic services to behavioral health patients across age-specific populations

• Apply evidence-based clinical practices in treatment planning and intervention

• Maintain compliance with licensing, regulatory, and organizational standards

• Utilize de-escalation techniques and effective communication strategies as required

• Document clinical services accurately and timely

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care

Primary Skills:

• Clinical assessment and therapeutic intervention

• Behavioral health treatment planning

• Knowledge of age-specific behavioral health needs

• De-escalation and crisis intervention techniques

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

• Experience with substance use disorder treatment

• Familiarity with state-approved restrictive intervention curricula

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree required

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience required

• Active licensure required, one of the following:

  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician (LCMHC)

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT)

  • Clinical PhD/PsyD level Psychologist

• For Substance Use Therapist roles:

  • Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or

  • Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) with one of the above licenses

• NC state-approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire (as applicable)

• Good working knowledge of computers required
