Job Title: Sr. Ride Project Engineer

Job Overview/Summary: We are seeking a Sr. Ride Project Engineer to lead the engineering and integration of innovative ride systems. This role will serve as a key technical representative, working closely with creative teams, operations, maintenance, and show and facility partners to ensure ride systems meet creative intent, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring experience in ride design, project management, and vendor coordination.
 
Responsibilities: Serve as the Ride Studio representative on the project core team, providing expert technical guidance. Work with creative directors to develop requirements from high-level concepts and artwork, ensuring alignment with creative intent. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to establish requirements and ensure compliance with their needs. Define integration requirements and interfaces in coordination with Show and Facility partners. Proactively identify and secure necessary resources and mitigate project risks creatively. Lead "clean sheet" concept design of new ride systems, ensuring innovation and feasibility. Define scope and requirements for ride collaboration assignments, providing direction and leadership. Negotiate and balance conflicting stakeholder needs to facilitate informed decision-making. Execute the Ride Engineering Standard of Practice and recommend process improvements. Lead business aspects of ride engineering, including strategy development, cost estimates, resource planning, and milestone scheduling. Ensure engineering results are comprehensive, meeting industry standards and local regulations for safety, quality, durability, and reliability. Conduct technical design reviews, hazard analysis, and system safety design processes. Prepare bid packages, contribute to contract documentation, and oversee vendor selection and management. Act as the Responsible Individual (RI) for vendor and consultant contracts. Safeguard intellectual property and liaise with legal teams as necessary. Oversee vendor design, fabrication, and commissioning activities. Lead site installation, testing, and final turnover of ride systems to operations and maintenance teams. Perform field testing and installation validation, requiring navigation of construction sites using fall protection equipment, scaffolding, lifts, and confined spaces. Support "Blue Sky" concept development initiatives and represent Ride Studio interests. Lead medium-scale engineering scope and coordinate across multiple technical disciplines.
 
Primary Skills: 5+ years of professional engineering experience, including design, analysis, production, installation, and testing of complex mechanical systems. Expertise in project management, engineering scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management. Experience leading technical teams through the design and implementation phases. Strong knowledge of ride systems, mechanical engineering principles, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in engineering documentation, system safety analysis, and hazard mitigation.
 
Secondary Skills (Good to Have): Experience with ride systems engineering, including integration with show and facility elements. Familiarity with theme park and amusement ride industry standards. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
 
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited university. Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
