Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to join a high-visibility support team responsible for healthcare applications. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of applications supporting internal claim services, external Blue plans, and new out-of-state customer initiatives. You will work in a Mainframe environment, collaborating with team members and independently delivering assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain code for system designs and enhance existing programs.
- Develop technical specifications for individual programs.
- Collaborate with other developers in a Mainframe environment to deliver projects.
- Analyze, design, and implement new features and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance.
- Participate in system testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work processes and project progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with IBM mainframe operating systems.
- Proficiency in COBOL development with at least 3 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience in enterprise DB2 environments preferred.
- Current experience with JCL (Job Control Language) preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable team player, capable of collaborating in dynamic environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field desired.
