Responsibilities:

  • Design and test complex, high-speed FPGA designs.
  • Develop and support top-level simulations.
  • Translate requirements into FPGA architectures and implement them using HDL (System Verilog, VHDL, etc.).
  • Support system integration and testing to ensure functional design.
  • Contribute to the architecture and implementation of next-generation satellite communication systems.
  • Design and implement advanced algorithms for adaptive TDMA, SCPC return channels, and Anti-Jam technologies.
  • Support FDMA and TDMA waveform integration.
  • Create test plans to ensure performance specifications are met.
  • Produce technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Simulate communication channels and design improvements for satellite communication systems.

Primary Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in FPGA design.
  • Expertise in Verilog/System Verilog or VHDL targeting Xilinx/Altera FPGAs.
  • Proficiency in physical synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, and power analysis tools.
  • Experience with simulation tools like ModelSim/QuestaSim and development tools for Altera/Xilinx.
  • Strong understanding of timing closure, clock domain crossings, and digital logic verification.
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) and abstracting hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment and PCB tools for debugging.
  • Skills in low-level test software development (C/C++, LabView, Python).
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) on FPGAs and SDR waveform implementation.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as JESD-204C, 10/40G Ethernet, Aurora, and SoC multi-processor designs (Xilinx Zynq MPSoC, Xilinx Versal, Altera SoC FPGA).
  • RF measurement experience and understanding of RF chain design.
  • Proficiency with JTAG, DAC/ADC testing, and RF parametric testing.

Secondary Skills:

  • Control loops, FPGA Direct Memory Access IP, and IEEE 1588/PTP networking.
  • DSP algorithms implementation in RTL or System Generator.
  • Modulators/demodulators, forward error correction, adaptive channels, and anti-jam algorithms.
  • Networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP) and satellite communication systems.
  • Linux driver development and high-level synthesis tools (Xilinx/Altera).
  • Matlab/Simulink or equivalent tools for DSP algorithm development.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field (from an accredited institution).
  • MSEE/MSCE is preferred.

Benefits/Perks:

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
