Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a Scout IT Analyst to join our team and play a key role in monitoring, investigating, and resolving IT incidents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for proactively identifying issues, conducting in-depth analysis, collaborating with technical teams, and ensuring effective incident resolution. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication to keep stakeholders informed throughout the incident lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Incident Monitoring and Triage: Actively monitor IT systems for potential incidents, assess severity, and prioritize accordingly by classifying and assigning tickets within the incident management system.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct in-depth analysis by gathering information from system logs, user reports, and network monitoring tools to determine the root cause of incidents.
- Problem Resolution: Collaborate with relevant technical teams, such as network engineers and application developers, to implement solutions and resolve incidents effectively.
- Communication and Escalation: Provide clear and timely updates to stakeholders, including impacted users and management, and escalate critical issues to the appropriate teams when necessary.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed incident records, including steps taken, root cause analysis, and lessons learned. Generate reports to identify trends and improve future incident response.
- Proactive Measures: Identify recurring issues and propose solutions to improve system stability and reduce future incidents.
Primary Skills:
- Experience in IT incident monitoring, analysis, and resolution.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to identify root causes of IT issues.
- Proficiency in working with incident management systems and ticketing tools.
- Familiarity with network monitoring, system logs, and performance analysis tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder updates and reporting.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with ITIL framework and best practices.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Exposure to cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of experience in IT incident response, system monitoring, or IT operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
