Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Rocket Structural Design Engineer to contribute to the full-cycle design, analysis, and testing of rocket structures. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large structural components, fundamental knowledge of strength and stability, and familiarity with failure mechanisms such as fatigue.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop structural components for rockets, including both primary and secondary structures.
- Perform structural analyses to ensure components meet strength, stability, and fatigue failure criteria.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the design, integration, and testing of structural components.
- Ensure structural integrity through finite element analysis (FEA) and other industry-standard methods.
- Review and validate design specifications and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Assist in the testing of structural components, including static and dynamic load testing.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to design, analysis, and testing processes.
Primary Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in a full-cycle design role, specifically with structural components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of structural design principles, strength analysis, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
- Experience with large primary or secondary structural components for aerospace applications.
- Proficiency in structural analysis tools, including FEA software.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with rocket or aerospace industry-specific design tools and software.
- Knowledge of materials science and its application to aerospace structures.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant design and structural engineering experience.
- Proven track record of developing and analyzing large structural components.
- Familiarity with testing procedures for structural components in aerospace applications.
