Job Title: REDHAT Engineer

Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a skilled RedHat Linux to support and manage enterprise-level Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in RedHat Linux system administration, EMC storage management, backup solutions, virtualization, and high-performance computing environments. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux systems, patching and securing kernels, and supporting SAN and backup systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot RedHat Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Perform system installations, updates, patching, and security configurations.
  • Support and manage EMC VNX SAN and Avamar/Data Domain backup solutions.
  • Deploy and manage large-scale RedHat Linux environments.
  • Provide Linux system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with networking protocols, including TCP/IP and high-speed proprietary interconnects.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for system management.
  • Assist in virtualization management using VMware and other tools.
  • Participate in project management for Linux deployments and upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation and support audits for security and compliance.

Primary Skills:

  • Experience working with RedHat Linux servers in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, process accounting, and security software.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
  • Experience managing EMC Storage (VNX SAN) and backup solutions (Avamar/Data Domain).
  • Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP protocols and high-speed data transfers.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • Experience with VMware, Nagios, and other virtualization/monitoring tools.
  • Prior experience in large-scale RedHat Linux deployments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in Linux system administration in an enterprise setting.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux installation, maintenance, and support utilities.
