Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled QuickSight Developer/Engineer to manage and optimize the QuickSight infrastructure within AWS. This role involves creating and managing data sources, handling user queries, automating processes, and collaborating with business stakeholders to develop insightful reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong AWS expertise and experience migrating users from BI platforms like QlikSense/Tableau to QuickSight.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the QuickSight infrastructure in AWS, ensuring security protocols, database connections, authentication, and user onboarding follow best practices.
- Create and manage data sources and assets within QuickSight.
- Address user community queries related to QuickSight development and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify reporting and dashboard requirements.
- Manage the migration of users from BI platforms like QlikSense/Tableau to QuickSight.
- Automate processes using Bash or Python for efficiency and scalability.
- Utilize AWS Lambda functions for automating repeated tasks in QuickSight.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize system configurations, deployments, data source connections, and report/dashboard scheduling.
- Implement industry best practices for data analysis, visualization, and storytelling to enhance reporting insights.
Primary Skills:
- Strong AWS expertise in managing QuickSight infrastructure at scale.
- Hands-on experience with QlikSense or Tableau, including user migrations to QuickSight.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for process automation.
- Experience with AWS Lambda for automating QuickSight tasks.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization principles, data storytelling, and dashboard optimization.
- Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot QuickSight system settings and deployments.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with other AWS analytics services.
- Knowledge of SQL for data preparation and transformation.
- Familiarity with API integrations for QuickSight automation.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience working with AWS QuickSight in a large-scale environment.
- Hands-on experience in BI platform migrations (e.g., QlikSense/Tableau to QuickSight).
