Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Commercial to oversee commercial construction projects, including retail, multi-family, state and federal, military, gaming, and hospitality developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing subcontractors, project costs, schedules, and field construction oversight, ensuring high-quality execution and client satisfaction. This role requires a results-driven leader with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Oversee project costs and maintain profitability through cost management and analysis.
- Manage field construction activities, engineering, and project support functions.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Analyze cost reports and recommend actions to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
- Establish and manage labor requirements in coordination with divisional leadership.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure scope alignment and adherence to specifications.
- Administer project policies, procedures, and contract management strategies.
- Collaborate with architects, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve project challenges.
- Lead regular safety meetings and support field supervision in maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Monitor material purchasing to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
- Conduct project meetings to review progress and plan future activities.
- Ensure construction equipment is properly maintained and utilized effectively.
- Oversee and enforce quality control standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Primary Skills:
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in BIM, Primavera, MS Project, Excel, and Word.
- Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with owners.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction disciplines and field management.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience in a wide range of commercial construction markets, including high-rise structures, retail, industrial, federal & military, gaming & entertainment, hospitality, and healthcare.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of commercial construction management experience.
- Experience managing medium to large-scale projects ($20M+).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
