Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Pediatric Dental Assistant to join a premier pediatric dental practice in Arlington Heights, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, assisting dentists during procedures, and ensuring a positive, comfortable experience for pediatric patients. This role involves hands-on clinical support and patient education in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare pediatric patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort throughout visits
Assist dentists during procedures by maintaining a clean, dry oral field and handing instruments as needed
Sterilize, organize, and prepare dental instruments and treatment rooms
Take dental x-rays and intraoral photographs as required
Educate patients and parents on procedures, treatment plans, and oral hygiene
Support all aspects of clinical dental care in a pediatric setting
Primary Skills:
Chairside dental assisting
Pediatric patient care
Dental x-rays and imaging
Instrument sterilization and setup
Patient education and communication
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Coronal polishing
Pit and fissure sealants
Experience in pediatric dentistry
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience working with children
Coronal Polish Certification (Preferred)
Coronal Polishing & Pit/Fissure Sealants Certifications (Preferred)
