Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Operating Room Technician to support surgical teams in delivering safe and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterile field maintenance, and operating room protocols while ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and functioning properly.

Responsibilities:

Perform scrub person functions with working knowledge of aseptic technique and standards.

Inspect all sterile items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal integrity, sterile indicators (if present), and expiration dates.

Maintain sterile integrity of all items and fluids introduced onto the sterile field.

Monitor sterile field for contamination risks and initiate corrective actions as needed.

Move within or around the sterile field in a manner that preserves sterility.

Visually inspect equipment for frayed cords, damaged plugs, or other defects prior to use.

Confirm equipment self-test patterns when turning on machines as required.

Anticipate equipment and supply needs to avoid procedural delays.

Demonstrate knowledge of correct sequencing of materials and supplies during procedures.

Report changes in operating room temperature to the appropriate personnel.

Primary Skills:

Aseptic technique and sterile field management

Surgical instrumentation handling

Operating room equipment preparation and troubleshooting

Infection control standards

Strong attention to detail and teamwork

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Experience in fast-paced hospital OR environments

Strong communication and coordination skills

Ability to anticipate surgeon and procedural needs

Qualifications:

Preferred: One (1) year of Operating Room experience as an OR Technician/Surgical Technician in a hospital setting.

Licensed in the State of Colorado as a Surgical Technician (required).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) preferred.
