Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Technologist specializing in Biochemistry to perform complex laboratory analyses and ensure accurate diagnostic results. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, maintaining quality control standards, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and demonstrate proficiency in laboratory analyses as scheduled by the supervisor.

  • Evaluate, interpret, and report laboratory results accurately to appropriate personnel.

  • Prioritize and perform STAT procedures within established turnaround times.

  • Conduct and document quality control procedures and troubleshoot deviations when necessary.

  • Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.

  • Prepare reagents and monitor laboratory supply inventory.

  • Participate in formal and informal training and teaching programs for laboratory staff.

  • Maintain productivity standards while adhering to compliance policies, code of conduct, and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay current with federal, state, and institutional laboratory regulations.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Primary Skills:

  • Clinical laboratory testing in biochemistry

  • Laboratory instrumentation and equipment operation

  • Quality control and quality assurance

  • Data interpretation and reporting

  • Troubleshooting laboratory procedures

  • Regulatory compliance and documentation

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience with automated clinical chemistry analyzers

  • Laboratory information systems (LIS) knowledge

  • Training or mentoring laboratory staff

  • Inventory and reagent management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or a related field (required)

  • ASCP certification or equivalent preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
