Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality behavioral health services to adults with severe mental illness (SMI). The therapist will deliver individual and group therapy, contribute to integrated care planning, and support patients through recovery using evidence-based interventions. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams and the ability to navigate complex clinical situations with professionalism and compassion.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy to a panel of complex SMI patients.

  • Offer continuous, regular support as patients navigate recovery, both in person and virtually.

  • Deliver evidence-based care within a holistic, wrap-around care model.

  • Collaborate with patient care teams and behavioral health providers to ensure an integrated and cohesive approach to care.

  • Address medical needs to mitigate the effects of social determinants of health.

  • Provide consultation to therapists on the treatment team—including licensed therapists and trainees.

  • Assist with program development and clinical process improvement.

Primary Skills:

  • Expertise in evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, MI).

  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning abilities.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism.

  • Strong organizational skills and capacity for autonomous work.

  • Technological proficiency with the ability to learn new tools and platforms.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience supporting integrated care or multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience working in community mental health or wrap-around care settings.

Qualifications:

  • Active Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LPC in the state of North Carolina.

  • Active NPI and Medicaid/Medicare enrollment (required).

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with adults with severe mental illness.

  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, clinical standards, and documentation requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with medical professionals.
