Job Overview/Summary:
The Lead Medical Assistant provides support to physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical staff by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with patient care activities, and performing administrative functions. This role also leads Medical Assistants, ensures smooth clinic operations, maintains clean and safe patient care areas, and promotes patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise Medical Assistants to ensure efficient clinic workflow
- Support physicians and nursing staff with patient care activities
- Facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of patient care areas
- Perform administrative and clinical support tasks as needed
- Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and healthcare regulations
- Deliver excellent patient service and foster a positive patient experience

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must meet one of the following:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the state of employment, OR
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure in Illinois, OR
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA) with certification from one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – NCCT
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA
- National Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – NAHP
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong computer skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience
