Job Overview/Summary:

The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by assisting with specimen handling, preparation, and basic laboratory procedures. This role ensures accurate processing of samples while maintaining laboratory safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the collection, labeling, and preparation of laboratory specimens.

Maintain proper documentation and records for laboratory tests and procedures.

Support laboratory staff in sample processing and preparation for analysis.

Ensure laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and properly maintained.

Follow established laboratory safety procedures and quality control standards.

Assist with inventory management and restocking of laboratory supplies.

Coordinate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely processing of samples.

Primary Skills:

Laboratory sample handling and preparation

Attention to detail and accuracy

Basic laboratory procedures

Documentation and record keeping

Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Experience working in healthcare environments such as clinics, hospitals, or physician offices

Assembly or manufacturing production experience

Medical or clinical laboratory experience

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Preferred: 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry (physician’s office, clinic, or hospital)

Preferred: 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

Preferred: 1 year or more of experience in a medical or clinical laboratory setting
