Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Infectious Disease Physician to provide specialized wound care and infectious disease management in post-acute care settings. This role focuses on bedside care in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACHs), offering a balanced schedule with no call or weekend responsibilities and flexible part-time or full-time options.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver modern wound management and infectious disease care at the bedside in post-acute care facilities.

  • Conduct weekly wound rounds at assigned Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals.

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with complex wounds and infectious conditions.

  • Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day.

  • Perform real-time clinical documentation at the point of care using a proprietary wound-specific EMR.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

  • Travel within a 40–60 mile radius of the primary practice location as part of this mobile practice.

  • Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, and documentation requirements.

Primary Skills:

  • Infectious disease management

  • Advanced wound care

  • Clinical assessment and decision-making

  • Bedside patient care in post-acute settings

  • EMR-based clinical documentation

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in SNF or LTACH environments

  • Wound care certification or training

  • Interdisciplinary team collaboration

  • Mobile or multi-site clinical practice experience

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease (preferred)

  • Minimum availability of 3 weekdays per week

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
