Job Overview/Summary:
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining dialysis machines, monitoring patients during dialysis treatments, and ensuring the quality and safety of the dialysis process. This role supports the Dialysis team in providing basic nursing care and carrying out technical procedures. Working under direct supervision, the technician maintains accurate documentation of patient treatments and reports any issues or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.
Responsibilities:
Perform hemodialysis treatments, including preparation, supply gathering, care organization, documentation, and reporting abnormal findings to the RN/LPN.
Assist with daily department operations, prepare dialysis treatment set-ups, perform safety checks, and clean and turn over machines between patients.
Collaborate with co-workers, manage resources efficiently, maintain supplies, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team and patients.
Perform quality control monitoring of the hemodialysis water system and equipment, document results, report deviations, and implement corrective actions.
Precept and orient new Dialysis Technicians and assist with competency-based training.
Provide preventative maintenance and minor equipment repair; report unsafe conditions and assist with machine repairs.
Respond to emergencies, adhere to patient safety goals, use appropriate safety devices, protect confidential information, and follow organizational policies.
Perform clerical duties, assist with scheduling, enter charges, maintain paperwork, and manage inventory levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
0–1 years of Nephrology experience including Hemodialysis (HD) preferred
Strong attention to detail and patient safety
