Job Overview/Summary:
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for providing comprehensive women’s healthcare services, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, and primary care services. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote optimal maternal and reproductive health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Provide full-scope midwifery care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Perform patient assessments, triage, and ongoing evaluation of care plans.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care programs.
Educate patients and families on reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and wellness.
Maintain compliance with quality, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in educational programs, workshops, and community outreach as needed.
Exercise sound clinical judgment in administrative and procedural decision-making.
Primary Skills:
Expertise in midwifery theory, procedures, and standards of care.
Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
Knowledge of gynecological health issues and current trends.
Ability to maintain accreditation and certification requirements.
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Commitment to quality, safety, and infection control standards.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Bilingual or multilingual abilities, particularly Spanish or Hmong.
Experience developing and delivering educational programs or workshops.
Strong administrative and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current state licensure.
APRN, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with current state licensure.
Current midwifery certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
Completion of a midwifery education program certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).
Current DEA licensure.
Current CPR certification.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required (religious and medical exemptions will be considered).
