Job Overview/Summary:

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting children and adolescents with ASD across structured environments such as clinical, educational, or home-based settings. This position focuses on implementing evidence-based interventions, promoting developmental progress, and assisting with behavioral and therapeutic needs to enhance daily functioning and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

Support children or adolescents with ASD in clinical, school, or home-based environments based on project scope

Apply evidence-based strategies and intervention techniques for ASD support

Assist in implementing individualized developmental and behavioral plans

Provide day-to-day therapeutic and behavioral support to clients

Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, educators, and caregivers

Maintain accurate documentation and reports on client progress and activities

Primary Skills:

Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental conditions

Experience with evidence-based intervention techniques (e.g., ABA principles)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Behavioral observation and intervention skills

Documentation and reporting proficiency

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Experience in pediatric or early childhood settings

Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles

Ability to work collaboratively with families and caregivers

Patience, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic environments

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)

Prior experience working with children with ASD or developmental disorders

Basic understanding of behavioral intervention techniques

Strong organizational and time management skills
