Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Tester to ensure digital products comply with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Section 508. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accessibility testing tools, have a solid understanding of ARIA specifications, and be able to identify and report accessibility issues across web and mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accessibility testing using both automated and manual methods.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508, and ARIA specifications.
  • Use screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to evaluate accessibility.
  • Utilize accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse.
  • Perform keyboard-only navigation testing to identify usability issues.
  • Analyze test results and provide detailed accessibility audit reports.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to recommend accessibility improvements.
  • Validate the use of semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and attributes for accessible web development.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Section 508 compliance.
  • Experience with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
  • Proficiency in accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
  • Understanding of ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) specifications.
  • Ability to perform manual accessibility testing, including keyboard navigation.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with browser developer tools for accessibility inspection.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
