Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Tester to ensure digital products comply with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Section 508. The ideal candidate will be proficient in accessibility testing tools, have a solid understanding of ARIA specifications, and be able to identify and report accessibility issues across web and mobile applications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct accessibility testing using both automated and manual methods.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508, and ARIA specifications.
- Use screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to evaluate accessibility.
- Utilize accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse.
- Perform keyboard-only navigation testing to identify usability issues.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed accessibility audit reports.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to recommend accessibility improvements.
- Validate the use of semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and attributes for accessible web development.
Primary Skills:
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Section 508 compliance.
- Experience with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
- Proficiency in accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
- Understanding of ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) specifications.
- Ability to perform manual accessibility testing, including keyboard navigation.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools for accessibility inspection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
