Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to lead our tax practice. This role involves overseeing the tax compliance process, managing client relationships, and providing strategic insights to optimize client tax positions. The ideal candidate will mentor a team of tax professionals, ensure top-quality service delivery, and stay updated on tax regulations to provide expert advice.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage tax compliance and planning for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Review tax returns and associated financial documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize client tax positions and achieve financial goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax-related inquiries, maintaining strong relationships.
- Mentor and oversee junior staff, fostering their professional growth and technical skills.
- Stay informed on federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate updates to clients.
- Conduct tax research and provide insights on complex tax issues.
- Collaborate with the leadership team on business development initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of tax services and projects.
Primary Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- CPA or EA certification (preferred but not required).
- Advanced proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications.
- Strong dedication to client service with a proactive approach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
