Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a System Calibration Engineer – Engine with experience in automotive engineering and engine calibration. This role involves optimizing propulsion system calibration, analyzing test data, and working on engine dynamometer setup and testing. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, experience with data acquisition systems, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize engine calibration for various operating conditions.
- Conduct engine dynamometer and vehicle testing to evaluate system performance.
- Utilize AVL PUMA, IndiCom, CAMEO, and ETAS INCA software for data acquisition and analysis.
- Analyze test data to enhance engine performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions control.
- Work with government test cycles (FTP, US06, WLTP, RDE) to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engine system calibration and performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate calibration solutions into production.
- Document and report testing procedures, results, and calibration strategies.
- Support offsite testing as required (up to 15% travel).
Primary Skills (Required Qualifications):
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive engineering with a strong understanding of engine systems.
- 5+ years of engineering experience with data analysis and testing.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Experience with computer and data acquisition systems for testing and optimization.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and work with minimal supervision.
Secondary Skills (Preferred Qualifications):
- Hands-on experience with AVL PUMA, IndiCom, CAMEO, and ETAS INCA software.
- Exposure to propulsion system calibration in both test and vehicle environments.
- 3-5 years of experience with engine testing, calibration, or hardware development.
- Familiarity with engine dynamometer setup and testing.
- Understanding of government emission and fuel economy test cycles.
