Job Overview/Summary:
The Staff Nurse – Radiology is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment, implementation of individualized nursing care plans, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to professional nursing standards to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
Identify and differentiate between physical and psychosocial signs and symptoms in patients.
Select and perform appropriate therapeutic nursing interventions essential to patient care.
Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized nursing care plans for assigned patients.
Record and maintain accurate nursing care plans and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
Interpret and report patient responses and clinical changes to appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to plan and deliver comprehensive patient care.
Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen that may be delegated to allied nursing personnel.
Communicate the philosophy and objectives of the agency and Nursing Department to patients, families, and other groups.
Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and ongoing learning activities.
Perform additional professional nursing duties as delegated by nursing service administration.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Experience in radiology or procedural nursing
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of patient safety and infection control standards
Qualifications:
Valid New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
Current or obtained (through facility orientation) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via the American Heart Association (AHA).
Ability to meet clinical competency and professional practice standards.
