Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience (10+ years) in designing, implementing, and supporting mainframe operating systems, including IBM z/OS, z/VM, and zLinux.
3. Strong knowledge of mainframe security concepts and tools, including RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) and access controls.
4. Experience with managed service providers, off shore support teams, RACF passphrase implementation, and data center relocation are a plus.
5. Proficiency in mainframe performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization using tools like SMF, RMF, Omegamon, SysView, and Workload Manager (WLM).
6. Experience with Linux operating system administration, particularly on IBM Systems z architecture (zLinux).
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex mainframe operating system issues.
8. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Proven leadership abilities, including experience leading technical projects and mentoring team members.
10. Relevant certifications, such as IBM Certified System Programmer or IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert, are a plus.
