Job Title: Lead Dental Nurse

Job Overview/Summary:

As a Lead Dental Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring outstanding patient care while supporting your dentist and leading your team. With a strong understanding of Private, NHS, and UDA treatments, combined with in-depth knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities, you will uphold the highest professional standards for both your team and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Dental Nurses, including recruitment and compliance responsibilities.

  • Manage the training and development of Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurses, providing guidance during induction and ongoing support.

  • Assist the Practice Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Dental Nursing Team.

  • Deliver excellent patient care with clinical freedom to determine the right treatment solutions.

  • Foster effective teamwork within the surgery to support dentists and enhance workflow.

  • Utilize strong organizational and influencing skills to maintain practice efficiency and deliver quality patient care.

  • Ensure compliance with GDC and other regulatory requirements.

  • Support practice performance goals by understanding and promoting both Private and NHS treatment options.

  • Commit to CPD and continuous professional development.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and influencing abilities.

  • Comprehensive understanding of NHS, UDA, and Private dental treatments.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience supporting practice performance improvement.

  • Familiarity with dental compliance systems and reporting tools.

  • Previous experience training or mentoring staff.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).

  • Previous experience in a senior or lead dental nursing position preferred.

  • Evidence of ongoing CPD and commitment to professional development.
