Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Fund Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will manage various accounting and financial responsibilities to support fund operations. Your expertise in private equity or asset management will be essential as you collaborate with fund administrators, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the invoice allocation and approval process
- Review cash transactions and reconciliations prepared by fund administrators
- Prepare and review fund, general partner, and co-investor financial statements, including partner capital account statements
- Analyze and interpret deal documentation for financial reporting purposes
- Collaborate with fund administrators and communicate necessary information
- Assist with capital calls and distributions for funds and co-investors
- Support quarterly and annual closings, including audit requests
- Respond to investor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure proper controls are in place and accounts are accurate
- Work on various ad hoc projects as directed by the line manager
Primary Skills:
- Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and processes
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial documentation
- Proficiency in managing reconciliations and preparing financial statements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a public accounting firm focusing on private equity or asset management clients, or equivalent industry experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Highly developed problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels
