Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing samples in accordance with strict procedures while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining data integrity and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster open communication between the client and Aegis Sales Management

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection

  • Ensure the integrity of each ‘Chain of Custody’ and sample

  • Verify sufficient sample volumes

  • Confirm samples are properly labeled and sealed

  • Ensure all sample requisitions are complete and accurate

  • Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) “FLUID” for sample submissions

  • Answer client/patient questions regarding Aegis policies

  • Complete and maintain required Compliance and HIPAA Training

  • Manage Lease Agreements (as required)

  • Follow all safety requirements, including proper PPE usage

  • Order and manage supplies and budgets in collaboration with RSM/ASM

  • Verify insurance information via Passport system

  • Request and collect payments from patients (if applicable)

  • Maintain communication with Regional and Area Sales Managers

  • Support sales and marketing efforts related to sample collection

  • Stay updated on Aegis testing services

  • Maintain a professional, positive attitude

  • Participate in continuous process improvements

  • Provide leadership through example and sharing knowledge

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Skills:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Basic computer skills (email, navigation, file management, etc.)

  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM

  • Familiarity with Windows OS and basic hardware connections (USB, printers)

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in a medical or healthcare setting

  • Experience with tablets and stylus use

  • Familiarity with security protocols for handling sensitive data

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Experience in medical or laboratory setting preferred

  • HIPAA Compliance Training

  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
