Job Overview/Summary: We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic sonogram scans using specialized equipment, working closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role demands a strong understanding of ultrasound imaging techniques, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Perform high-level diagnostic ultrasound imaging, including complex and challenging exams.

Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams following standardized scanning protocols to produce maximum diagnostic information efficiently.

Ensure proper patient identification and order verification, preparing patients appropriately for ultrasound examinations.

Operate and maintain ultrasound imaging and related equipment, ensuring all exams transfer to Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).

Adhere to protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging; obtain necessary consents; document any events for quality assurance; and report equipment failures or issues.

Participate in and attend clinical training sessions related to sonography.

Actively engage in process improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient experience, quality, and access.

Educate, position, and immobilize patients to perform perinatal ultrasound procedures, ensuring timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.

Practice sterile techniques and follow infection prevention policies.

Perform other duties as assigned or required by regulatory bodies.
Primary Skills:

Proven experience in performing high-level maternal fetal medicine imaging.

Demonstrated ability to independently perform complex and challenging ultrasound exams.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound imaging equipment and related technologies.

Strong understanding of ultrasound imaging techniques and protocols.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Experience supporting maternal fetal medicine research studies and meeting quality standards outlined by medical directors or managers.

Subject matter expertise in advanced ultrasound technologies, techniques, and practices.

Experience working with all levels within a healthcare organization.

Prior experience in the healthcare industry.
Qualifications:

Associate's degree from an accredited sonography program.

Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in OB/GYN or Fetal Echocardiography.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Minimum of three years of experience in obstetrics (OB) and maternal fetal medicine (MFM), with at least one year specifically in MFM preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
