Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Scientific Programmer for a remote position estimated to last up to 12+ months. The role involves working closely with client project teams to ensure the successful design and delivery of a Multiscale Machine-Learned Modeling Infrastructure (MuMMI) framework using AWS high-performance computing infrastructure.
 
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with client project teams to provide functional, technical, and industry expertise.
Support the implementation of the MuMMI framework to explore interactions between lipids and proteins over large length and time scales.
Use cloud computing technology and computer science to study and find solutions in the area of biology.
Propose and implement novel bioinformatics analysis strategies adapted to analytical needs.
Work closely with the AWS HPC team to implement the code developed on a supercomputer in the AWS cloud environment.
Ensure the effective transfer and adaptation of existing code to the cloud environment.
 
Primary Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field (flexible with years of experience).
At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
Working knowledge of protein folding, molecular dynamics, and experience in the lab/pharmaceutical field.
Experience with cloud computing technology, particularly AWS high-performance computing.
Proficiency in implementing and adapting bioinformatics analysis strategies.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with project teams and AWS HPC members.
 
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
PhD in microbiology, biology, health informatics, or a related topic area.
 
Qualifications:
Proven experience in scientific programming and cloud computing technology.
Strong background in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Demonstrated ability to implement and adapt complex computational frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
